What are Element 47 socks made from?
9% Silver Yarn
Silver yarn is a nylon yarn with a 99.99% pure silver layer. Unlike other products on the market that apply silver ion coating which can easily wash out, SILVERKNIT™ technology uses pure silver threads and never washes out, providing superior antibacterial performance. The silver component is responsible for about 50% of our production costs, however we believe to make the best quality product, Silver is pivotal.

90% Nylon
Nylon can’t be made from plastic bottles, for now, but we’re always looking for more sustainable alternatives.
Nylon gives our socks fast-drying properties, making them ultra-durable and enables compression support. Almost every performance sock you can find will contain Nylon.
1% Elastane
Elastane is a minor ingredient in our socks but essential to provide elasticity, strength and is effectively fast-drying.

We're based in Sydney, Australia.
Can silver be harmful to me or the environment?
Silver has no short or long-term harmful effects on either you or the environment.
Where is it made?
Element 47 socks are spun, woven and sewn responsibly in China in an ethically certified factory.
Washing & Care
How do I wash my socks?
Machine wash cold (up to 30 °C) or wash by hand. Turn inside out before washing. Do not use bleach or fabric softener. Line dry or tumble dry on the lowest setting. Do not iron or dry clean.
Will there be pilling?
Pilling is natural with delicate fibres like silver. In fact, it’s the sign of an intricately woven, quality product.

Usually 3-5 days Australia wide.
How much does shipping cost?
Within Australia, it's free!
International shipping is calculated at checkout but usually around $15 if you spend under $100, otherwise, it's free.

Yes, we offer international shipping to over 150 countries.
